Speech Therapy (ST)

Fidelity Health Care Care's Speech Therapy Team visits are provided by our licensed speech-language pathologists. Individualized treatment plans are developed for articulation, language, voice disorders, as well as cognition and speech deficits with attention, concentration, memory and problem solving in addition to social appropriateness.. 

Treatment and training are provided for swallowing disorders and eating difficulties. The speech therapists also provide assessments for alternative devices. Our Speech Therapy team delivers deliver education and instruction to patients and families to optimize the speech therapy program. 

Who Needs Speech Therapy? (ST)

  • Patients experiencing difficulty with communication, voice, language, and cognition
  • Patients recovering from head and neck cancers
  • Patients with neurological diagnoses including cerebrovascular accident (CVA, or stroke), multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson’s disease (PD), and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease)
  • Patients who have had tracheostomies and laryngectomies
  • Patients at risk for aspiration pneumonia, malnutrition, and dehydration
  • Patients with difficulty eating and/or swallowing
